Toney Rocks cancels Pearl show, Mike and Shanna to fill the gig

October 26, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

On Wednesday afternoon, Lynn Haworth, who is responsible for booking much of the great talent showcased each year at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry, received an email advising that the Toney Rocks tour, set to stop in Bonners Ferry this Saturday, had to cancel their remaining shows for the month of October.

Rather than panic, Lynn decided to take the lemon and make lemonade.

“Another first for the Pearl,” she wrote members of the non-profit Pearl board. “Another ‘opportunity!'”

In a flurry of effort, she got in touch with Mike Thompson, leader of one of the most popular rock bands to play the Pearl, the Incredible Flying Dookie Brothers.

The Dookie Brothers aren’t available, but a gig Mike and his wife, Shanna, were set to play in Spokane fell through, so in a flash of serendipity, they will instead be coming to Bonners Ferry to play the Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash Street, at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 26.

All who have tickets Pearl season passes or tickets to see Toney Rocks will be admitted to see Mike and Shanna, who have been making music together for many years and have built a solid fan base around their Priest River home and at venues around the northwest.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students at Mountain Mike’s, Bonners Books, online at or by calling (208) 610-2846.

Doors and the Pearl Cafe open at 6:30 p.m.
